101 LINDEN STREET
Oakland, California
The 101 Linden Street building had its beginnings at the turn of the century when the Standard Underground Cable Co. began to make cables for the new industries of telephones and electric power. In 1918, a two-story brick building was added to the original structure. The cable company relocated its factory to Emeryville in 1928, and the building saw a wide variery of uses after that time.
The building is home to the Linden Street Brewery, the only brewery in the City of Oakland. It specializes in high quality craft beer sold to local pubs and restaurants. Rehabilitation and upgrading to its current use was completed in the mid-1990's. The 30,000 square foot building, where GMB Realty Partners maintains its offices, is now home to architects, engineers, an art gallery and even a micro-brewery. Vacancies are rare, as the existing tenants love the building and want to stay.
